Identity-safe prompting: the rule behind every live recipe

Every live prompt on Prompy is supposed to be identity-safe. That is not a slogan. It is the difference between a cinematic recipe and a request to wear someone else’s face.

What identity-safe means here

Describe age range in general terms for adults, wardrobe, light, lens, location, and mood. Do not name a private person and ask the model to reproduce them. Do not upload a reference whose only purpose is to lock onto a stranger. Do not write prompts that sexualize anyone 17 or under — we will reject them and, if needed, remove the account.

Public figures and fictional characters sit in a grey zone. We still prefer original direction: “1990s magazine cover, tungsten practicals, 85mm, film grain” will almost always beat “make it look exactly like [living actor] in [specific film still].” If a submission is obviously a facsimile of a copyrighted campaign, it does not go live.

How to write the look anyway

Start with the camera and the light. An 85mm at f/1.8 with a single hard source through blinds reads as a photograph before you mention a face. Then wardrobe and location. Then the few adjectives that actually change the picture (wet asphalt, breath in cold air, gold rim). Put the identity constraint in the recipe: “original adult subject, not a likeness of a real private person.”

The cover should match that direction. A beautiful random stock crop that has nothing to do with the text makes the card a lie. We would rather delay a prompt than publish a mismatch.

What happens when we get it wrong

Editors miss things. If you see a live prompt that targets a private person, includes prohibited sexual content, or copies a commercial image, send the URL through Contact.
